Say goodbye to your loved ones with dignity and respect
Little Mermaid's final farewell at sea is a popular service for families wishing to scatter their loved one's ashes into the ocean. We can take you to a quiet spot for an intimate service or a celebration of your loved one's life.
We highly recommend the use of biodegradable urns as they are purpose-built for water-based ashes scattering. These urns are designed to be placed in the water where they will float for a time and give you the opportunity to say goodbye. Ashes can be scattered anywhere in the beautiful St Ives Bay, or further afield if so requested. We usually find a quiet spot near Godrevy Lighthouse or en route to Seal Island. The tides ebb and flow in a West to East direction. Skippers Ian and Dougie have many years of experience operating in the waters near St Ives and Hayle. GPS coordinates will be recorded for future use or information.
Scattering ashes directly onto the water can lead to them being blown about which some families may find distressing. We supply a wide range of urns specifically designed for water ceremonies. They are all 100% biodegradable and will dissolve in water – please follow the link:
